SHORT BLURB FOR MEDIA

MARCUS EATON'S lyrics often reflect the natural beauty that surrounded him growing up on top of a mountain in rural Idaho, but the level of talent of this self-taught musician is world-class. Incorporating rock, reggae, flamenco, classical, jazz and folk, his mastery is recognized by fans and musicians wherever he plays.

Marcus has recently played with an array of acts including Dave Matthews Band, Tim Reynolds/TR3, Martin Sexton, Blues Traveler and Colin Hay. Marcus and his band have spent the last few months working on a new album that will be released in January 2010. FULL BIO

"MARCUS EATON plays the acoustic, but not like you might expect. He rapidly shifts between frantic fingerpicking and strumming, clean acoustic sounds and swirling, looped effects. His music fits firmly in the post-modern musical relativism that has become the norm among a new generation of musicians – viewing genre distinctions not as absolutes but as starting points . . ." Adam Moore, Premier Guitar Magazine (read interview here).

"One of the best performances we've had in our studio. A superstar in the making." Mark & Brian of the syndicated Mark & Brian morning show, KLOS-FM Los Angeles

"Marcus weaves a tapestry rich in musical depth and soulful feeling. Sweet impassioned spot-on singing round out this total package of dynamite." Tim Reynolds

"A singer, songwriter and guitarist to be reckoned with on a national scale." Michael Deeds, Idaho Statesman

Eaton is one of a relative few who, like Sting, can create music that is this complex and yet make it sound easy and natural." George Graham, The Graham Weekly Album Review

"Marcus Eaton is the real deal. His music resonates long after the song is over." TJ Baden, Baden Guitars

MARCUS EATON'S lyrics often reflect the natural beauty that surrounded him growing up on top of a mountain in rural Idaho, but the level of talent of this self-taught musician is world-class. Incorporating rock, reggae, flamenco, classical, jazz and folk, his mastery is recognized by fans and fellow musicians wherever he plays. Here is a map of venues Marcus has played.

Marcus has been warmly received by Baden Guitars, Fishman, Mesa Boogie, TC Electronics, Sennheiser and Radial, and has played shows with an array of acts including Jewel, Bob Dylan, Train, Victor Wooten, Buckethead, Tim Reynolds & TR3, Dave Matthews Band, Derek Trucks Band, Martin Sexton, Blues Traveler, John Mayer, Counting Crows, Edwin McCain, Ozomatli, Young Dubliners, Michael Franti & Spearhead, New Monsoon, Jason Mraz, Collective Soul, Sheryl Crow, Guster, Ben Taylor Band, Nils Lofgren, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Gin Blossoms, Jake Shimabukuro and Blackalicious.

Marcus tours nationally, performing solo and with a band. His current band consists of drummer Kevin Rogers - an extremely versatile player who incorporates odd meter, polyrhythms and deep pocket grooves with a composer's ear that has a unique sensitivity for the song. Kevin's musicianship has taken the band to completely new reaches.

Renowned bassist Garrett Sayers (The Motet, Dwele, Kyle Hollinsworth), who appeared on Marcus' 2006 release, Story of Now, rounds out the live trio with his amazing chops and impeccable time.
